| C-A-R-E Goals
|
Connect those within First Covenant Church. Being a part of a smaller group within a large church will help families to feel more 'connected.'
'Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers' Galations 6:10.
Affirm and encourage both those who give and those who receive. It feels good to serve others, and when others care for us our spirits are lifted. 'Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds…let us encourage one another.
Hebrews 10:24-25.
Refresh others with unexpected blessings. Like water in a desert our very soul is blessed when others go above an'd beyond. 'Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you have refreshed the hearts of the saints.' Philemon 1:7.
Extend care to those outside of First Covenant. We can reach out to others in very practical ways, expressing our faith through action. 'Be
wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.' Colossians 4: 5-6. |

| Extending God's Love...
|
...through Friendship and Support from First Covenant Church
'Two are better than one, because they have a good
return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the one who falls and has no one to help him up!...a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.' Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
'Two are better than one…' This is especially true when we face challenging times of illness, hardship, loss, etc. As our church family has grown we have become more and more aware of our need to meet the growing number of needs among us.
Our purpose is to have each family linked to a CARE Circle of about 20 families. Those within each CARE Circle would provide support to one another and, at times, collectively support others outside of the circle (funerals, special events, outreach, etc.) This network will provide our congregation and pastors with a better system to realize the needs that exist and focus on the resources within each circle to meet them.
