As followers of Jesus Christ, it is our desire to grow in our relationship with God. How do we grow? 2 Peter 3:18 says we are to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” At First Covenant Church, it is our heart-filled desire for you to grow to know God more intimately through his abounding grace. There are three areas we have identified as instruments that will help you become more spiritually formed in your walk with God:
“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” In the early church depicted in Acts 2:42, we see an authentic and missional community. We desire at First Covenant Church to experience true life through a deepening relationship with Jesus Christ. A weekly Life Group consists of ten to fifteen individuals and/or couples who meet regularly at someone’s home. This is a great opportunity to live the Christian life together. If you are interested in knowing more or joining a Life Group, please contact the church office (823-3792).
Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Spiritual Formation classes on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 10:50am are geared toward seekers and new believers as well as those who have been trusting in Jesus for some time. Our quarterly class curriculum includes Biblical, topical studies and life skill helps such as parenting or financial stewardship. Click here for class times and descriptions.
Life on Life Groups
Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” We are not called to live the Christian life alone, but rather in the midst of community. Life on Life groups is geared toward intentional disciple making and accountability. If you are wanting to know who Jesus is, or desire to know what it know means to follow after Jesus, or if you desire to have two or three other men or women come alongside you to lovingly hold you accountable, a Life on Life group may be a great fit. Some Life on Life groups meet in the midst of our Life Group ministry. Contact the church office for more information. |
